Reviews and Mentions of Designing Mobile Interfaces

I keep hoping for reviews, but haven't noticed a serious one outside of Amazon yet. Meanwhile, there are a few sites giving a lot of traffic. Both to be nice to them with in-kind links, and because the mentions mean you might like the articles, here they are:

Other Writing

Steven writes occasional articles, writes a regular column for UX Matters, and edits books and other articles. If you like what I say at a conference, you might like some of these also.

  • In 2010 I wrote an article reviewing the current (rather sexy) state of in car terminals for police, their connectivity and how they are used or can be a danger. It got reprinted in a couple of police journals, and was quoted in the Atlantic as Attention Must be Paid though they got my name wrong.

  • Designing by Drawing - Basically all my design process and artifact-management methods in one place. Some is now a bit out of date (2009), and it doesn't have a lot of current, mobile-specific methods. But I still refer to it weekly. Also available, cheap via iTunes but I am really not sure I get money if you buy it from there.

  • Smashing Webit - I totally did not write this. I was just the technical editor, and Jon Raasch did a good job gathering all the info.

  • Eyes on the Road or Mind on the Road? - Article on AR, telepresence, transparent displays and the way distraction actually works, published in UX Matters.

  • Agile User Experience Design - I was one of a half-dozen experts who contributed thoughts to another UX Matters column that Janet Six collected.

  • I lost my laptop... and it didn't really matter published on UX Motel, May 2013.

Extremely Not-Comprehensive List of Interviews or Talking About me:

Blogs

  • Donttouchme.com - I blog irregularly, but often sharing stuff I find useful and generally applicable. This is where some basics for the books came from, so I presume my current writing is equally relevant.
